PROJECT SUMMARY
At Diageo's World Class Competition, participants are not only judged on the taste of their cocktails but also on their ability to weave storytelling and sustainability into their creations, while Ketel One Vodka's "Garnished with Good" initiative encourages bartenders to make a positive impact in their communities with every cocktail they craft. After a day of competitions and judging, a select group of competitors and judges are invited to a private dinner with drinks to celebrate.
The event took place at Swift's Attic in downtown Austin, a stylish and shabby-chic hot spot in a historic space. The venue presented several challenges, as we needed to remove all furnishings and conceal the walls to create the modern aesthetic required for the Ketel One event. To achieve this, I adjusted the lighting, constructed large wooden structures to cover the wall decor, and introduced contemporary furnishings to create a sophisticated yet retro lounge ambiance.
